We collect information you provide when you create an account and use Stirwise, including:
Account information: Name, email address, and password. If you sign in via a social provider (such as Apple or Google), we receive basic profile information from that provider.
Health and nutrition data: Dietary preferences, allergies, household size, calorie targets, macro goals, meal diary entries (including barcoded food products), cook sessions, workout sessions, and body metrics you choose to provide.
Usage data: Features you use, pages you visit, actions you take within the app, and crash reports.
Device information: Device type, operating system, device tokens for push notifications, and IP address.
Payment information: Subscription purchases are processed by Apple (App Store). We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not store full payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate personalised AI meal plans and recipe recommendations
- Track your nutrition, fitness, and wellness progress
- Send push notifications you have opted in to receive
- Improve our services and develop new features
- Respond to your support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
We process your health data solely to provide the Stirwise service to you. We do not sell your personal or health data to third parties.
3. AI and Automated Processing
Stirwise uses artificial intelligence to generate meal plans, analyse nutritional data, and provide personalised recommendations. This processing is based on the health profile and preferences you provide. You can update or delete this data at any time from your account settings.
AI-generated content is intended as a helpful guide and is not a substitute for professional medical or nutritional advice.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:
Service providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate our services (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, AI model providers). These providers are contractually required to protect your data.
Analytics: We use PostHog for product analytics. Data is anonymised or pseudonymised where possible.
Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose your information.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated data

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
8. Children's Privacy
Stirwise is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Stirwise after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
